Chimney Tops Trailhead: Road Prong Falls
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
As hundreds of people a day find their way to the Chimney Tops, almost all pass by one of the Park's most forgotten trails to Road Prong Falls. The Road Prong drainage passes through a deep valley between Mount Mingus (east), and the long north-south ridge of Sugarland Mountain (west). Road Prong Falls tumble into a large, circular drop pool ideal for swimming and finding salamanders. Even when the Chimney Tops Trailhead is packed, visitors will find solitude on the Road Prong Trail.
