The trail to cub lake was blocked and we had to climb over a dead burn out tree very dirty

It did, and it also went on for a long time. I guess the elk were extra frisky this year. I wonder if this all means a large crop of calves next spring.

 

It's always bizarre to see the bulls, after things wind down, suddenly acting like old pals when for so many weeks they've been so antagonistic toward each other.

As long as they are that side of the view, not the other side ! The other host is in the trees in C loop and has not much of a view. Even they noted the trees are nice but the view is not as good.
