It's always interesting to me to see what the other members look like. So let's see you. Post your mug here. I'll start. I'm the guy on the right.

**I had to edit this post as I changed the picture to one from this year's vacation**

It should be rather obvious which one I am :P Here's a pic of my family from this years, 2004, trip to RMNP!! five.gif

Good idea Tom!!

I'll look forward to everyone else's pics as well....err, maybe not randyman's...that may be more than most people can handle naughty.gif Just kidding Randyman, I'll help you get a pic posted. There should be plenty from last year's trip still on my computer at work.

Well, this will certainly scare a few people away from this site, but here is my ugly mug together with my wife.

Here's an interim pic of Randy...until I take the time to find one from previous years still on my computer.

That picture was from last Halloween at work. We went to work in "costumes" that we prepared at the last minute. Randy was "Captain 'nonymous", and I was "Super Dork". I'll find a pic to post of me as that "character" soon.

Ok, I'll take a chance on this...both with the picture of me and with aarond's switch to a new host. With any luck this picture will be lost! Anyway, here I am out on a rock in the East Inlet above Adam's Falls. This is one of my favorite places to be...

Oh, I'm a little disappointed ProfHall. I was expecting the Professor to be a round little man with a big white beard, and dark rimmed glasses, sort of an educated looking Santa. :(

That was funny...you got a belly laugh out of me on that one laugh.gif

It's funny how we come up with mental pictures of people. That's why this thread is fun and a good idea five.gif

Gosh, I hate to disappoint...but I've worked pretty hard NOT to be the little round man with the white beard. Hope that NEVER happens! :D

Randyman, you really do need to go dip your toes in the East Inlet...we always go to Adams Falls and then hike a while on up the inlet. This always involves taking our shoes off and getting IN the inlet, too! The kids love it!

If you turn LEFT instead of right at the west side visitors' center (going up from Grand Lake, into the park), and follow that road around (DON'T SPEED!), you'll come to a little bridge over the Colorado River and a place to park. Stop there and spend some time "on the beach" and wading around in the river. Even in August the water is frigid, and it's great for perspective to think about that creek joining up with other flows to make the Grand Canyon. Not everything is as it seems...

I debated about posting the photo...but I thought the "bucket hat" was sufficiently goofy to qualify for this board! neener.gif

Actually, if you continue on the trail from Adams Falls, it goes on to Lone Pine Lake and Lake Verna. I've got some pics somewhere...

All in all, a very nice section of trail. And the lakes are well worth the trip. Not sure about mileage and elevation gain, but I'm sure its posted on one of the hiking sites. Been MANY years since I've been to these lakes.

Someone in another thread was looking for an easy hike, the walk to Adams Falls is short, quite easy, and the falls are quite impressive.

Oh, and don't forget Grand Lake Ice Cream, as long as you are on the west side of the park. :D
